Thoughts on the Day after Easter
Easter is just too damn big.
I mean,
how can you celebrate it adequately?
How do you celebrate the come-from-behind,
Hail-Mary-pass of the Resurrection?
What music is adequate for marking the
Victory over Death, Hell, and Satan himself?
No wonder Clydesdales' music sounds like it does --
the Choir of the Bleeding Vocal Chords.
What we did was big, and loud, and full of awe.
You can't beat "Worthy Is the Lamb" and "Hallelujah" from Messiah.
It still wasn't enough.
I don't think anything would be enough.
Standing next to the Risen Christ, it all
pales
in comparison.
Maybe that's the point.
